alright simple question.

How would i be able to tell if the seat belt recall had ever been done? I'd really like new seat belts and if i can get it done for free thats perfect.

I think too much time has passed for the dealer to perform that recall for free...

safety recalls don't expire. The dealer could pull your VIN and the computer will state if the safety recall has been performed. If it has, you'll need to replace the belts yourself, if not, they will still do it.

The Recall was not to replace the belts, just the locking parts in the buckle. you will not get new belts, do a search on this subject.

There was... It had to do with the pink button part; something about them becoming brittle or something...

To answer the original question, they are supposed to put a sticker on your radiator showd (plastic top part) that says it was completed. I read this from the GM paperwork that there is a link to in the sticky thread on the top of this forum. Also, you should see some kind of metal clip that goes around the pushbutton.
