I think white came out really good on this one.

If you are not a fan of cleaning it 30 times a day or blistering your hands trying to wax it outside in the sun, I recommend any color except black. This comes from a person who owns a 2001 Black Z28 and a 1987 Black IROC Z28.

Not to flame anyone or anything. I'd just like to say, that if it's done right, Black is by far the most reflective and mirror like finish, my opinion of course. Yeah, it's a pain in the *** to keep clean...yeah, imperfections show up easily...the list can go on...BUT, isn't ANYTHING that's good a pain to KEEP looking good?

I had plans to paint mine a deep, glossy black but the red is starting to grow on me. I have plenty of time to decide yet, but it doesn't make deciding any easier.
I really love a shiney black 3rd gen though. It makes them look so much more menacing.
Here's mine with the red:

I agree withblack being the best color. (I must, I own two) and as for the waxing in the sun, I will clarify. I was referring to the spray wax for the finall detailing at show like Super Chevy in Joliet where all you have is the sun. As for black showing the flaws in the paint. Yes, it does, that is why mine was primed, sanded, primed, wet sanded, and wet sanded and, well you get the idea. I just sold a red 88 IROCZ though and it was a fantastic car color wise also.

i think if your gonna repaint it dont be like everyone else who has a black, blue, white or red 3rd gen. go with something like orange...and get a lot of pearl mixed in, it kinda turns out to look like a candy...look at the color difference from one side of this car to the other, it actually flip flops yellow and orange. (this is a car im building)

for that orange you are looking around $650 for the sealer/activator, base/celaercoat, if you know someone who paints you could get a decent price on the labor...if not might wanna call some shops and ask.
