Hugger Orange 92 Z-28 ?
Looking for opinions.........
I am in the process of painting my 92Z-28 (99) Hugger Orange. It was Purple(not a big fan of purple) Anyway I found this pic while searching and was wondering what you all thought of going strait hugger orange but painting the blisters on the hood black, and painting the headlight pockets black. The rest of the car would be hugger orange. Anyone able to photshop out the stripes on this and just leave the blisters black and fill in the headlight pockets black. Anyway the paint is going to be sprayed on Monday, still have some light sanding and filling to do.

oh, figured i would throw this out there too. Painter suggested painting the spoiler black to balance out the hood blisters (which I shoyt down right away) To me it would look unfinshed with a black spoiler but.......there is a but.
How about painting the underside of the spoiler black with the 2 center supports black with only the top side in orange. Hard to explain but basicly what you see on the top and sides would be orange. Yes, no, maybe? Need a better description of what I'm talking about?

Switching from purple to hugger orange is gonna be a massive undertaking. Those two colors are no where near close. Door jambs, hatch, under hood, wow I cannot even begin to think of it. But that is one of my all time fav colors and would love to see more of it on 3rd gens.
For what its worth, dont paint the spoiler! Please, think of the children

The pic of the car you posted is actually corvette red... just a off color pic I suppose. Here is a orange Z, ive seen this car in person.. I didn't really care for the metal flake paint he used but the actual color looks excellent

I think just the two support pieces on the spoiler painted black might look good, but not the entire underside of it. I'm sure someone can photochop it.

I think you should just do the headlight buckets black, the blisters would look wrong to me in black. Not bad for an idea for the spoiler but I dont think it would look right either. You could out stripes on it! Im a big fan of black stripes!

the hugger orange looks sweet, but 86'bowtie has a point. go w/ the (69) hugger orange and paint the blisters and pockets black. I'm not following ya on the the spoiler idea, i guess we need pics!

I thought about going with the older huugger orange, but the newer color is alittle darker. Guess I just like the darker color.
I,m thinking of either just leaving the spoiler orange or putting stripes on the whole car. If I go stripes how about leaving the Blisters Orange?
lol. The z-28 I posted a link for looks more orange than the orange picture posted.

i think that color of orange looks pretty cool... kinda reminds me of that bad *** z or iroc that farva drove in super troopers
I say paint your headlight pockets black, leave the stripes, and paint the underside of the spoiler like you said. my photoshop took a crap on me... i guess thats what i get for downloading it a while back but if it were working i woulda done your spoiler idea, and i think it would look killer...

I wish we had some pictures to post ,but we painted my son's '92 Z in orange. The car was origanaly Dark Teal, but during the prep work for paint we had it so far taken apart, we decided to change colors. It was going to be Sunset Orange Met.,but it came out about half way between Hugger Orange and S.O.M. It looks great!!! I did put all new weatherstripping on it ,so the car looks like it came from the factory in that color.Peach Auto Painting and Collision in Atlanta did it for us for around $800.00 that included under the hood, the door jams, and the hatch.A great job for the price. Was an MP, just havent got around to changing my avatar. I'm a Police Officer in Ky now. I think most of the pictures of the RS in my Sig were taken at Ft. Belvoir in VA. I've been out about 2 years now. I had almost 7 years service..................jt

I went with the 1999 Camaro Hugger Orange, not as bright as the classic but more my style. Here are some before pics if anyone is interested. It was pretty ruff..........jt

if you wanted stripes like the first pic get heritage stripes it would look a million times nicer.

Yeah, I knew there would be some mixed emotions on the hood blisters and the spoiler. I thought about stripes but my RS has stripes and reallly wanted to get away from that on this one.
I also thought about going with white on the blisters and spoiler but since the headlight pockets are black I stayed with the black details. In a nut shell, if I want to change the appearance of the car in a few months all I have to do is remove the spoiler and blisters and paint whatever I want.
Thanks for the compliments..........jt

i really don't have anything nice to say about the black so i won't, the orange on the other hand is really nice. paint them the body color and it would look beautiful, otherwise it just looks unfinished.....always wanted to paint a thirdgen orange. nice color choice.

I think the black looks good man. You need something to break up all that orange. Good choice not painting the wing black too. Nice car.
i think that if you added black heritage stripes on the hood it would improve the overall look..... but awesome car nonetheless, and i LOVE the black treatment on the spoiler
