What is involved in swapping a dash in a camaro?

Well my dash has a big hole in it (don't ask), so I figure its time for a new one. I'm not looking to put in a 4th gen dash or modify anything, just one thirdgen dash for another. How hard is it, and if anyone could tell me how to get it out it would be helpfull. Ive had the dashpad off before, and I didn't really look to hard, but I didn't see any ovious bolts or anything to remove it.
Its a 91 btw.

theres lots of bolts on the under side of the dash, its very easy to figure out what bolts hold it all together, itle only take an hour or 2. but bring a can or soemthing to put all teh bolts into

When I see pictures of people doing the 4th gen swap, it looks like just a huge mess of wires, do I get to deal with that, or do they all stay in for this?

You don't have to remove any wires or anything if you just want to remove the dash pad. Just remove the 4 screws near the vent on top of the dash pad and the 6-8 screws on the bottom edge of the dash pad. It should pop right off after that.

I know how to get the dash pad off, the dash itself is cracked.

If you're keeping your gauges, or getting gauges from the same model/year car, you will not have to deal with any actual splicing. You will still have the wires to deal with, because the dash it what holds them in place. It's pretty easy to just push them all back up behind the dash when you get the new dash in, though.

If you are keeping your gauges, then I bet you already know, you NEED a dash from a 90-92 camaro.

If you have questions on getting the dash out, I have a friend that took one out of an 87 Camaro. He may be able to help you. Hit him up on AIM at BadAss87ChevyZ28. Tell him you got his name from Mike.
