Prelude seats in a thirdgen?
Has anyone put Prelude seats in a thirdgen before? I've been looking for some better seats (with some lumbar support and a better head rest), and I might be able to get some seats from a late 80s Prelude from a friend. I'm just wondering what would be involved in putting them in.

I think that's exactly what he's asking. He wants to know if anyone has done it so he knows in advance if it takes modification or not. and if it does need modification, how was it accomplished.

Heheh, thanks Jeremy, that is what I was meant.
Well, if no one's done it and I get the seats, I'll make sure to let everyone know what's involved. I've see others mention doing it before. Was hoping had.

Unless he's got some kind of power lumbar setup, there's 2 easy ways to mount a different seat to a car, and that's either adapt the seat itself to fit the stock seat tracks, or adapt the new seats and tracks to fit the floorpan/floor supports.
Even with power lumbar, the second option would work, then it would be a question of wiring it up.
If he wanted to ask, "Are prelude seats a direct bolt-in", then that would be a different question, but he asked how he could make them fit.

I guess this may be indirectly related but, I made mounts in my bud's '72 truck to fit the old seats (and tracks) from my 'bird ( hand-me-downs).
He then found some seats that he liked better from a Geo Storm so I had to modify the mounts on the new seats (Geo tracks are straight & flat) to adapt them to the 3rdgen mounts I had already welded in (wasn't about to grind the mounts out).
I guess to cliff note it.. anything can fit if you have the skill to fab it in (which is basically what mathius was pointing out).
Here's the seats (though dirty... they are very comfortable.. especially for $10)...

I really like Prelude seats, and if you were able to make them fit, I think it would look great. I say go for it.

"1990 Honda Prelude Si" seats on Ebay:

auction says they will fit 88-91.
That'd look good I think. Redo it of course in black or something.
