you could try hammering it out from the other side. just take the quarter panel off and go for it.

When i worked in the body shop we had a couple 3rd gens with dents there, we just replaced the panel because it's nigh impossible to get it back to how it was.

But if you're good with a hammer, you can make it look better.

lol , i dont think anybodys dumb enough to remove a body panel to remove a dent lmao. man dirtbik3r i have no idea what u did to that poor sheetmetal. it looks like u were tryin to shrink it w/ a torch and it looks like it u had mudded it and i might be seein rust but then again i have no clue what it is. I certainly hope u take it to a professional, they wont replace ur 1/4 they'll just fix that and paint it.

I think he meant take the interior trim behind the dent out and hammer the dent, not take the whole quarterpanel out. At least I hope so...

On a diffrent note, I wish I had a lift in my garage!

I have done all the work on my car so far and I didn't really want to start now. I was going to hammer from inside, BUT, the damn spare tire holder is in the way. You know, that piece thats welded from the top trim to the bottom of the car... And yes, I did try torching it and throwing ice on it to see if it worked. Which it did by the way, just not fully. That isn't rust there though.

get it as close as you can and go to town with filler. or cut out a section of the quarter and cut the same section out of a junkyard car and weld it in. or replace the whole quarter. there's no way in hell you'll get that perfect with just metal work though, even if you do cut off the spare tire mount bracket.

Can you drill out the spotwelds that hold the spare tire in place and just reweld it when your done?? I have to drill out the spotwelds on my rear seatbelt retractor mounting plate to fix up my fender well.

I would start with a hammer and dolly useing the hammer on the inside and the dolly on the outside (hammer only on the dolly)untill it seems stright then use a metal file on the outside to show any high or low spots then if you have any high spots then you need to use the dolly on the inside and the hammer on the outside when you have it as close as you can then use body filler to do the rest of the job good luck
