As long as you use a 90+ 145 speedo they will work just fine. I hope you don't mind having a different odometer though. It caned be changed to match your mileage but people may question that if you are concered with that.

I might (easily) be wrong but, it seems like you may be thinking of camaro's and the circle to half 'moon' change. Firebirds only went to 140 and the (actual cluster) gauges were pretty much constant from 85-92 in design (excluding the lg4 option to 87, maybe). Firebird's started with elec speedo's a few years before camaro's

Yup you are right. The firebird went electric in 89 I believe now that I think about it. I forgot the birds were a year ahead. None the less all electronic speedos are plug and play. Thanks for the heads up.

When you say electric are you refering to the speed sensor on the tail shaft of the tranny? I have an 87 T/A that is electronic vs. cable driven. I do not know for sure what year this started though.

I always thought that the birds went electric one year before the camaros. I could be wrong though and I am sure someone has to know.

Email IROCZDAVE@aol.com about a '90-'92 145mph speedo. He has them from time to time. There around $300 used though. Don't think they made a 145mph speedo in '90 ethier. But yes they hook right up and work fine. Only the oil psi on them only goes to 60psi where on the 305's dash it gos to 80psi.
