Trying to get seatbelts out

But not happening.
I havnt tried the passenger side yet, but damn the drivers side. The bolt will not come loose at all. In fact my star socket it ruined now. Any ideas on how to loosen it?

Well, if you're not too woried about your carpet, you could spray some WD-40 or Liquid Wrench on it and let it soak in for a bit...

PB Blaster and a new T-50 Bit. Also use a nice extension and long handle ratchet for leverage,.

You could also use a long-throw ratchet and kick it, that's how I got a lot of stuck bolts/nuts off my car. A well placed heel can do wonders... just dont let it slip, that'll cause you to lose another torx head

I use a 3/8" breaker bar and a 2' long pipe for leverage, works wonders on stuck bolts and nuts.

Maybe im buying the wrong brand of torx heads, but even if it doesnt slip, it screws up the head. Hmm

i bought craftsman set. was not going to buy another unless i lost it. 1/2 drive is the ticket. what size drive you using?

oh and something you may want to try is to get a bmf hammer and rap it a couple times not crazy but enough to shock it. sometime that helps if there is some rust hanging on it.

Yeah, I always buy craftsman, gotta love the lifetime guarantee . I've stripped out a lot of sockets and bent a lot of screwdrivers working on cars...

I did this today, its def. a T-50, I actually had to rap the torx head into the bolt with a hammer, but it went in pretty easily... it was in there TIGHT, but not tight enough to damage the bolt, I def. would say a T-47 would be too loose when dealing with something that is on there so F**king well.

Centerpunch right in the middle with a nice heavy mallet. Then PB Blaster or Kroil, let sit overnight, then centerpunch again right before you try. I've always used a t-50.

If for some reason you end up rounding that thing totally off on the inside, you're going to have to drill it out... and that could turn into a mighty fun undertaking.

wtf bits do you use to drill them out anyways? i removed my rear seats and tried to get those fkn bolts out and ended up rounding them, so i tried drilling, got most of the way through and then it just stopped going any further, tried several bits, several sizes, bits for metal, bits for wood, i ended up just carpeting right over them. fn things. these problems i only had with the rear bolts... the fronts came out fairly easily with a t50.

WEll I drilled through it, inserted a bolt extractor (big) to get it out, and the extractor broke off into it. Then I tried freezing it and chizzling it out.

I have now come to the conclusion that discontinuing the camaro and closing the Van Nuyes plant was a great idea - therefore I know for a fact that the person(s) that installed my seatbelts at that assembly plant was laid off.
