I just picked up some leather seats from a 92 camaro with 14,000 miles on it!!!!! also grabbed the dash pad and door panels, and seriously, these pieses are MINT.... my question is, what years did the third gen come with the option on leather seats? what was the rpo? what models? What colors were available? I like to know everyting i can about third gens, and my camaro in particular, so any and all info is appreciated!

 

Why would you pull apart a mint car with low miles? That kinda kills the value in it. Unless its a wreck or something.

 

Well a local guy buys and sells 3rd gen camaros all the time, and he bought a 92 camaro from a police auction awhile back and it had 14,000 miles on it, but it was totaled in the front, ie( fenders, front clip, unibody, ect) but the interior was mint along with other various parts/pieces. Well after some time, he decided to sell the stuff i guess, and i was lucky enough to be first in line i guess... these interior pieces were in storage since he pulled them from the car, and i think i will be storing them also til my car is finished and ready for them, so they dont get damaged in the meantime... i was just looking for more info about leather availability in general, years, colors, rpo, ect

 

I think leather was always an option. I'm not sure on the RPO codes though.

 

Leather was an option from 87-92.

My RPO code for it is AR9, AQQ2 grey leather bucket seats. The code from the Camaro White Book is 822.

 

Ok, thanks... Mine are also grey leather. Did they make different colors for different years? what were they? what package in 91-92 came with the leather? looknig for someone with leather from those years if posible. sounds like it came in rs and z28 models depending on package.

 

I think all years, except 88, were, red, brown, and grey. Red wasn't available in 88. The seat pattern is different in 87 than it is in later years.

 

Ok, yeah from what i have seen, that makes sense with the colors and texture... i am wondering now about years and production, what % came with that option, and rpo for 92 grey leather. i think i got the rest of the info...

Bad News,

I've asked the question myself, how many 87 Iroc's had Leather, or 87's in general.

The answer is GM didn't keep track of that, so there is no way of knowing for certain.

This apply's to 88-92 as well

 

Really... thats interesting... thanks again labrat... I would assume though, that less third gens came with it then cloth, as you dont see it very often... I guess i was just trying to see how good of a find i actually got, being with 14,000 miles and all... well you deffintly helped me anwser the questions i had...

Mine came with FLAME RED leather seats............

.......and aren't they a pain in the *** trying to find replacement covers.
