anyone ever found this under the seat?

I thought I had found just about everything under the seat but this is a new one..We've all found the odd change, but what kind of an idiot forgets this under the seat? It's obviously been there for many, many years(I just got the car)Yes it is real, about 30 bucks. Also, has anyone ever seen these seats before?I've had many thirdgens but have never seen these. Are they rare enough to warrant reupholstering?had to share....

You actually drive that car with that interior??? Just dump them they are already trash. I hope the rest of the car isn't in such sorry shape.

Oh, I don't know, they look rough, but structurally the foam looks ok... The side bolsters look intact. All the shredding you see is in the cover and the intermediate pad that is attatched to the back of the cover itself.

When a good reupholstery shop recovers seats they replace all that old crap. So its not worth saving.

Why would they replace it if it's not bad? If I were taking it too an upholstery shop to fix and got a quote, I would go over the estimate with them and ask what they were replacing and why?
Look at the picture again, the side panels aren't blown out, there aren't large chunks gone out of the cushions...
I just went through and rebuilt my seats completely, with the help of the local trim shop that we use, and my side bolsters and cushions were in far worse shape than that, You'd never know it now though...
I had to re-do all the wire framework on the drivers' side and repair all the cushion and reinforce the bolsters, but well worth the effort.

I bet if he took off the covers and took another picture, you'd be amazed...

If I was spending the money, they would be replaced just because of any odors or animals , bugs and weather eating at it.
Just my opinion.

lear siegler conteuer

Found out that these are the lear siegler conteur seats.I know that they are rare but don't know if they are rare enough to try to save.Normally I wouldn't even consider saving them, but it might be worth it to add the value of the car.Like recaros..

I had those seats in my 84 S/E I once owned. They were in much much better shape than yours. I sold the car for 900 bux and last I heard it was abandoned and impounded.

I should have just kept the car and parted it out. that way it wouldn't have been such a waste.

You are correct they are leather lear siegler seats. Pretty comfy and alot of adjustmens on them

Yes the carpet looked pink. It was faded really bad. The tops of the rear seats were cracked and split but overall the interior of the car was in decent shape. Had a lot of neat features. To bad the guy I sold it to junked it.

later,
bill

Here is what the car looked like for those of you who may be interested. It needed more body/engine work than I could give it so I sold it.

I don't know if repairing your seats would be worth the investment but it would look good if they were redone.

seats

Yes your seats were definately in much better shape than mine. You are right in the fact that they are pretty darn comfy.Since mine are electric and the foam is still in pretty good shape I will try and save them. Some kind soul on the history board found someone who still makes the covers so I will get some numbers on the covers and a pro to install them(the leg parts have to be sewed)and see how the numbers work out.

I found 10 year old tickets to a high school football game... the weird thing was that they were from MY HIGH SCHOOL! I guess the previous owners went to the same high school as me. Also, I am told that the first owner of the car went to the same college as me... weird.

Bought a two year old Cutlass, looking for a noise in the dash, found a business card for Budget Rentacar. Broke my heart. Traded that damn thing off quick. Knew something wasn't right, 20K miles on the speedo and tires, brake, and shocks had been replaced. Hard life for those cars.

Found a baggie with a rock of crack in it under the battery of my '94 Camaro. No kidding. The car had been stolen and when the state trooper rolled up on it, the thieves were doing something under the hood. They probably stashed the sh*t when they saw the cops!

When i Bought my Formula i took the inside apart 5 days later and found about 15 bucks - a Beastie Boys cd - i patch with (FIREBIRD) sewn into it - an M80 (which are hard to get around here) - and loads of what look like failed attempts at wireing a speaker system behind the dash. i especially liked the M-80 the most.

seats

Just had a talk with desert sun auto. The covers for the seats run $350 for the fronts and $250 for the backs.Too much $$$$ in my opinion.they are neat but not that neat.Would have coughed up $400 or so but $600 total is too high.Might redo just the fronts though...
