Removing Spoiler
when you lift up the hatch there should be a plastic panel which you can remove to gain access to the spoiler bolts.

Basically, you will end up destroying the clips that hold the spoiler at the edges of the glass. Remove the plastic panel under the rear of the hatch. Pop out the black plastic plugs. Undo the bolts/nuts holding down the rear of the spoiler, and the 3rd brake light. Disconnect the wiring to the 3rd brake light. Push forward on the spolier to release the clips, and then lift up on the spoiler. Carefully feed the wiring harness for the 3rd brake light through the hole in the top of the hatch. Good luck!

I would recommend having 2 ppl to lift the wing off tho, to minimize flex and cracking....
Been there, done that

What if you wanted to go from a wraparound spoiler on an '87 to say a deck lid type spoiler from a '90 Firebird, both having same third brake light. Will the mounting holes line up, and can I remove the clips around the window that held the wraparound spoiler and make it look like they were never there, the clips that is ??????????
Thanks,
Bill E.
