89 Camaro Fixed Seats?
My camaro has car seats that don't move back and foward. They are fixed to the car. Are there brackets or something that I can get that will make them be able to move foward and backward?

Never heard of a "fixed seat" in a 3rdgen... at least not the way you've described. Is it possible that its just stuck?

yeah sounds like mine too, although it can be very frustrating
trying to remove the seats when the nuts for them are covered up by the seat.

I guess I misunderstood what you all said. My seat does not have sliders on them. The back of the seat goes foward but the "entire seat" does not slide foward.
Are there any brackets or sliders that fit on my seats?
You can buy racing seats that have universal sliders on them so they slide foward and backward but can I get those sliders for my car seats?

get down in the floor board and look under your seat i know it will be hard and you will have to look out of one eye but take a gander under the seat its self and look for the spring and lever that releases the seat to let it slide i am willing to bet its there ........
if you cant see it then take the 4 bolts that hold the seat down out and remove the seat and look at it like that ....

I'm sorry guys I apologize. I looked and found it. It was hidden underneath the car seat covers that the previous owner put on them.
Although, the metal that shows on the car seat where the bolts are look rusty. I have a wire brush to clean off the rust, but what do I use to lubricate it?

I'm glad I don't have those.
Another question. Since the 89 does not have airbags in them, would a 4 point harness be a good substitute?
Most racing seats have the harness you can put and I was just wondering if I should just stay with the stock seats and get them reupholstered or get racing seats with the harness?

personally i like the factory seats myself but thats my preference it all depends up on what you like and how much money you want to spend if it were me and i was going to do something to the seats id find a nice set of 4th gen seats to bolt in they are a direct replacement
