Solution to my Summit Racing Seats problem!
Ok, so I wanted the racing seats that Summit offered, but the problem was that they didn't bolt in to our cars, and fabrication was needed. Well, I went to the Jegs website today, and they have these new seats out! http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...omepage=100504
They use universal mounts, which means they will bolt into our cars. Best of all, they come in Red and Black, so they'll match my interior! I'm definately going to get these when I get the money, and I will definately invest in the seat warmers, as this car is also the car I drive in the winter.

highly doubtful and universal means that you the consumer can fabricate off of their bracket to make it fit almost anything you can build. there isn't anything for our cars that is direct bolt in and isn't from gm in one way or another unfortunately.

i have seats similar to these but they are cloth. i had to do a bit of fabrication work to bolt them in. first i had to switch what would be the driver and passenger seat because the recline lever won't fit next to where the seat belt bolts to the floor. second the back bolts are much lower than the front bolts so i had to add a one inch square tube to the rear to raise the seats. third i had to cut off the front outer bolts so that the slider (that lets the seat go forward or back) would work. finally the seats are not that well made and have a metal bar poking me in the thigh. if i could i would swap for the one piece 80's seats or some 4th generation seats. almost forgot unless you get racing style seat belts the seat belt will cut at your neck like crazy. just my two cents!

I picked up a pair of those summit seats to replace my torn stockers until I can afford to do it right. Like Jeff said, the 'universal' brackets still require fabrication. In my case, I ordered the universal aluminum brackets from Summit. They are shorter than the the studs in our floors. I solved the mounting rather easily by using the factory seat brackets, bolted them to the rear holes in the seats and then drilled a new hole for the fronts using the brackets as a guide. Voila!
They do sit about an inch or so higher than the stockers but overall not bad for a cheapie vinyl seat.

i don't know what brand they are to be honest, they were hand me down's from my cousin. he bought them for his f-150 but couldn't make them work. they are better than the factory seats that i had that were broken and worn out. they are just not exactly what i want, but they work for the time being.
