Clear taillight lenses available?

I am looking for taillight lenses, just like the smoke or black versions but clear. I like to paint the red to get the "older" taillight look. Does someone make them? Any suggestions?

Thanks anyway.

no one is making fun of you...your new to posting so many probably have let it go.

when 100 people over the course of a year ask to see a red car the board is full of responses. just check with the search button on your questions before you ask unless you've been around long enough to know that it hasn't been brought up.

I hate people that bitch about search button..

"UUUUGGGGGHHHH USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!" just answer his damn question! With the time u spent griping about a button you can easily answer his question.

Also since u are a senior member all your doing is making the newer members asses too because you warp thier fragile little minds with the damn search commie BS.

Mind u I've been a member of these boards longer then u but I don't bust a nut over someone asking a question thats been asked once before.

Ok I'm done ROFL. Lock the thread before it gets ugly .

Reading the question .. i dont think hes looking for altezzas .. sounds like hes looking for a blackout like cover thats clear (im guessing like the clear headlight covers). If thats the question i dont thnk its been asked before. As to the always telling people to search ... i hate that too.

he's looking for clear tailight covers, like the one made for camaro headlights. I've never seen them and I don't think anyone makes them.

Best thing you can do is what redraif did to get the effect.

Under his name it says hes got a chevy so i dont know how he could do what redraif did. But if your looking for red iroc tails .. the "red taillight mod" where ya paint the amber and possibly the backups red with trasnlucent paint. Is that the look your looking for?

I tried to paint the amber part of the taillight on my daily driver (Opel), but even the transluctant paint won´t let the lens light in an amber shade. It then lights red, and European cops don´t like that very much.

Therefore I wanted clear covers, paint them with transluctant paint and if I need to, I could remove them.

Thanks for helping!

Are you painting them from the inside or the outside? I did a write up on this awhile back on how to do it from the inside, and it will work, with VHT Dye, but I don't know what process you're using. VHT dye is available from summit racing, but I don't know who else, or how hard it is for you to get products from summit in Austria.

I'll do a quick search and try to find the link. It basically turned ugly because I didn't have a good picture of my tail lights, and I used a picture of someone elses car that had a huge wing, and it went off topic and I think it got locked.

Here You Go

He wasn't preaching to use the search button and he did answer the question. I don't understand what you guys are having issues with or why you think he's making fun of the poster.

He said nobody makes what he's looking for, search for ideas on what he's looking to do since nobody makes them and suggesting that he makes his own, again, since nobody makes what he's looking for. Jeff just used fewer words. You guys need to lighten up!

All smiles, we are brothers.

I am new to this group, but come on guys, "Can't we all just get along?" We are brothers in the same cause, lets be friends and try to help each other. Concise answers are all we want when we ask a question. Oh by the way, does anybody know why GTS thinks they need to charge so damn much for some taillight covers?

blackouts? probably because they've been discontinued and they stoped making them.

I have the most important qurstion of ALL... Why does gts offer like 5 different smoke covers for 85-92 when all the taillights were the same.. has anyone else noticed how many different ones there are for 82-92? And headlight covers GEEZ 85-92 which ALL had the same nose, have about 5 different covers

eh, i wasn't being smart just wanted to get the point across without drawing it out.

i'd like to see someone make a mold and design there own, plenty of people here capable of it and done tastefullly i'm sure would have a very nice little niche in the market.
