What years do vette lights overlap firebird lights?

I need to know what year vette lights are the same as the 88-92 (87-92?) Firebird lights. I want to say the 88-95 vette lights are the same, but I'm not 100% sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are not the same.

Corvette lights are 2 on each side
84-90 (Execpt ZR1) are the same (Round).
91-96 are the same (Square)

And the 88-92 Firebird tail light will not work with 88-92 Trans Am/GTS light unless you mod or change the wiring.

I have a pic. Its a little dark.

I guess I should clarify myself a little: I was talking about the headlight motors themselves. I'm looking around for a brass gear for the second gen system (87-92) and I came across this system for 88-95 vettes and wanted to know if it would work. It looks pretty close and knowing GM a few of those parts are going to be the same.

Thanks for the sexy picture though

They sell the bushings for $4.99, if those work in our motors then you can save a bit.

Yeah, I already have a set in the mail. That's actually why I'm looking around for a set of brass gears - when I have them apart I could replace everything that could possibly fail to keep them working for a good long time.

After e-mailing a few people (Rodney Dickman and the guy who owns Top Down Solutions) I founnd out that the gears have a VERY low failure rate. Given that, I'm not going to worry about the gears and I will just rebuild the motors.

I manufacture and sell the headlight repair kit, which consists of the 3 Delrin bushings. I also sell a deluxe headlight repair kit which will repair a pair of 1987-92 Firebird or 1988-96 Corvette. 99.5% of the time it isn't the gear that is bad, but the hard gel bushings inside the nylon gear that have gone bad.

My kits are a LOT less than Eckler's when you add the high s&h they charge.

Oh, I didn't even look at thier shipping.
I just used your deluxe kit last week (had it for about a year, just too lazy to fix the lights) and everything went pretty smooth.

Sorry, but this is going to come across as a bit harsh. First, your kit is already in the mail to me, I don't need to be told about it. Not only did I send you an e-mail asking about brass gears (after I placed my order), but I also made direct reference to your company in one of my posts saying I already bought your kit. Sure, you're defending your company but still. You know you've got a good thing going for you when someone can ask a question and someone will reference your product and say "this is amazing, use it over brand x's product".

And finally: in EVERY single headlight motor thread I've ever read, you always post the same thing about your kit. While this probably does bring you some business, it does get really repetitive when you do a search and find the same reference over and over and over again.

Sorry for coming off as harsh, but I was wondering if you were going to post in this thread about your kit when I posted it. I realize that you might be defending your company, but please let others do it (hell, if you hadn’t posted I would have said that you have a nice product and that I bought it). Not only will you stay within the rules of the forum by not advertising your product, but it will make you look even better when someone else suggests your product instead of doing it yourself. After all, everyone always tries to sell whatever it is they make even if it sucks

I also have got some bushing kits here that I need to install, and was looking for a pair of brass gears for myself, since i was going to be in there anyway. My brother got some for his 00 T/A but the company doesn't make thirdgen gears.

Gummie, First off, thanks for the order. If you'll notice my post was made just 8 minutes after yours. It took me longer to compose it than that considering the links I had to include.

I appreciate that you did a web search before posting the question. In other words I didn't even see your post at 7:03 before I posted.

FYI, I post the information not just for your benifit, but for the thirdgen community at large as well. Sorry if you get tired of reading the info I post, but it seems the question gets asked very frequently. I'd more than likely offend the next person that asks the question by posting "do a search". Trust me, it takes me a lot more time to type this out every time than it does for you (or others) to read it or and over. I've tried circling the post in crayon and drawing a line up to my web link, but so far it hasn't worked.

Lon

I didnt realize you were a sponsor and now that I think about it, it is better to post the same thing over and over again vs saying do a search which will just turn up other threads that also say 'do a search'.
