Nose emblem mounting

I am in the process of installing my new emblems on my 88 GTA. I got the fenders and sails done no problem. My car had the nose replaced at one point, and there is no hole for the mounting pin on the emeblem. i have the correct measurements, and can easily drill a hole, but was there a fastener on that pin from the factory, or was it just for locating it? If there was a nut or something, anyone know where to get one? Thanks alot.

Terry

I don't know for sure, but it probably used one of those stamped steel thread cutting nuts on the back side of the bumper cover....

Hmm. I don't remember filling any holes after I removed my GTA emblems. I thought all of the GTA badges were stick on?

What year was your car? If I remember correctly, 87-90 GTA nose emplems had a mounting pin, 91 & 92 were only stick on.

Mine's an 88, although I did replace the front bumper, so I wouldn't have filled any holes anyway.
