i have an ss hood i purchased the day they came out(sometime in 99, i think) LOL. not sure if they fixed their mold, but my hood was NASTY!!! waves, didnt line up with either fender. looked like i had the hood popped when it was shut. big wave by the drivers side hood hinge.... cant get that out. they laughed at me and told me to pay frieght both ways and they would get me a new hood. BS. all fixed now, body man worked the core support a bit for the fenders to line up correctly. had to slot the passenger side fender because you couldnt even shut the hood.
poorly built, IMO, but looks damn good when done right. :hail:

Here's some pics of mine shortly before it was stolen, I really didn't have any fitment issues:

and another:

and I always thought this view of the hood was pretty intimidating:

PS: The gap between the hood and nose was because the nose was a crappy after market that I was going to work some magic on, it wasn't the hood.

the gap on the drivers side between the hood and the nose is the hoods problem. ive seen many ASCD hoods this way. only their 3rd gen hoods seem to have problems. 4th gen hoods are build with much more quality and attention. ive seen pics and handfulls of both in person and they DO skimp on 3rd gen stuff.

Actually the whole car was stolen.....
It was the nose that was the problem, trust me. The top corners of the nose didn't come all the way to where they should have, its kinda hard to explain. If you look real close at the pic you'll see what I mean. And I had taken off the spoiler for the paintjob it never got. It's real easy to do, it's just a matter of unscrewing ten nuts. But try to be careful, on the decklid piece the studs can be brittle from age and pull out of the spoiler. Only one of mine came out but I imagine it could have been worse. I'm glad I got all the bodywork experience I did with the car because when I decide to buy another thirdgen, or anything for that matter, I'll know what I'm doing to begin with.
