New Door Handles
Hey guys, I just have a quick question. Today it was minus 20 million degrees outside when I was leaving for work. The doors on the Camaro were frozen, yada yada... and the outside handle broke clean off.
Now, I gotta find at least one new handle, but I might as well replace both, since the other is butt-f*ing-ugly lookin.
Does anyone know if the dealer still has these door handles, and maybe how much they cost?

yes they sould have them. But you can find them in any autostore, they are pretty comon since they were used in a bunch of GM vehicles. Ive seen them at Pep Boys, Napa, Discount, Advanced, or any other local autostore. No more than $8 or $9 dollars but if you want the real ones call Classic Industries, & I havnt looked but Hawks should have them.

Anyone know how I'd have to install these? Is there a set of instructions here somewhere?

easy to get off, easy to put on
if youre going to the dealer, get 4th gen handles. They are the same, but no inverted box deal on them...
just have to have the door panels off, and have the window so you can reach around to the back of the handle. two of those pressed nuts on there holding the handle on.... and you have to remove a plastic retainer thing that connects them to the metal rod. pops right out.

As far as install.. Take the doorpanel off, remove the 2- 10mm thread cutting nuts & latch rod, reverse removal.
More detail can be obtained though a search as it's been covered multiple times though this boards history.

Ouch man, last night when I got out of work, my doors were frozen shut too. I usually try to pound around the edge of the door with my hand to see if I can break the little ice-lock but it didn't work.
I figured I'd go around and try to pop my hatch with my key (my key never works in there), and it actually worked, so I pulled the hatch open and jumped through the hatchback and popped a door open
I didn't even look stupid because my boss didn't come around the corner until I already had my door open and was closing the hatch

Mine look like sh*t, but they are better looking than those boxed in factory ones. I got them off of an 93-7 firebird. Not sure if they are all the same.
