4th gen A pillar fits!

ive thought about it for 3 days, and been staring at them all evening. hacked, cut, grinded, and dremeled my way.
they will work. just need to find a good spot for some black trim screws to mount them. im going to cut down my dash pad, and i should be close to being rolling again.
wish me luck. im gonna try my best to make it to the local cruise in tomorrow night.
yeeeehaawww!

can't use stock 3rd gen pillars, as there's a gap left between the pillar and the dash. The 4th gen unit has essentially the same curvature, and will fit in, modification must be made to the base of unit, cut to the contour of the dash and made to fit, the angle at the top sometimes needs some minor re-working too. I know this only cause i was working on the same thing about 4 months ago, proved that it was going to be easier than i intially thought, its not a direct swap, but neither was the 4th gen dash in the first place, i would have shared the info, but wanted to be the first. jk. actually i just didn't think about it.

Another key note, the problem area is viewed from the outside of the car, while the angle will match up close enough, there's a gap on the side where the window would meet up with the pillar, if you look from that side, you can see behind the pillar and see the steel support. luckily, my cars black, so the metal behind is black also, doesn't stand out like crazy. But it could depending on what color your car is.

i.e white.

you are abosolutely correct about the gap from the outside. im either gonna use some universal door weather strip, or im going to use my stock trunk seal, becuase i replaced mine a while back when the car was painted.
i think a seal will cover this gap nice.
try it out.
dash pad is now cut and looks factory.
im off to the parts house.

Good to hear they fit. Been meaning to pick up a pair for the last few months, as thats the last thing that needs to be done for my dash install to be complete.
Wouldn't matter about that gap for me. I alreay have that gap with my stock A pillars for some reason. Its like a 1/2" space and the cars blue so its very noticeable. Maybe the 4thgen Pillars will actually be an improvement for me.

they fit, but dont forget i have about 3 hours of mods to them. i have some wheelwell clips holding them in where the 3rd gen a pillar would "slide" on. there is an inch gap in the rear, which i cut the 3rd gen a pillar and filled the hole.
its starting to look pimp. i may be finished with it tomorrow.

you guys wont believe how well they fit after roughing them up with a dremel.
i used some universal weatherstrip to fill the gap. it ALMOST looks factory.

I grabbed some from the junkyard last week. I held them up to a trashed 3rd gen's A pillar with no dash and they do look like very close match.
