I'm not 100% sure. We had a deal called advance exchange. They would ship us a new unit, then we would ship them back the old one for them to repair and resell to some one else. they do this with clusters, radios, etc. If you have your old unit you could send it out for them to repair it. they have pretty good rates.

replacement clusters cost a fortune.
ive seen some cars exceed 1300+ for a "recalibrated unit"
never priced a 3rd gen, but im assumming the same results.

If new gauges are gonna be really expensive, where's the best place to get used ones? Hawk's Thirdgen Parts?

Just my experience, but I've found used gauges to be just that and less. I went thru a couple of used speedometers that were advertised as being in excellent condition, only to find them to be broken.

Net-net, it was cheaper just to get my original speedometer repaired.

Now, this was ebay "mechandise" and purchasing gauges from someone who knows gauges might be a different story.

Do you already have a set of gauges? If so I would seriously consider getting your originals repaired rather than waste time and money looking for suitable replacements.
