I found a place on line that embroiders (sews in with thread only) designs into your headrests (like z28 or heartbeat of america or some such thing).
I am considering that. Although it will depend on price and a design. I have heard for a pair of headrests it is around $75.00.
I am thinking maybe something lame like "RS" or "25th Anniversary". That is as far as my imagination has gone.
My interior is flame red leather.
Has anyone done this to their cars? If so, pics please!

This is what i did to my seats. I've decided to change it but since i'm doing it all myself it's fairly cheap.
This is with the seat semi-assembled.
I apologize for the poor pictures. It is all i have. I'm keeping the same grey/black but i've decided on a different embroidered headrest design though. Also, it's black vinyl and all the stitching is actually red not orange.

I have embroidered 1970 Z28 emblems on my '99 Z28's headrests. They're the AQ9 adjustable lumbar seats from a '00 Trans Am.
Although it's in a 4th Gen, these seats are an easy and popular swap into the 3rd Gens...so it'll give you an idea of what's possible.
Pics are linked in my sig.

Go to:
http://www.headrestembroidery.com/
This guy does fantastic work and has the "Z28" logo already done.

If you can find an embroidery shop that will do it for $20 then go for it. But i seriously doubt it.

How do I get the head rest off of the metal guide that connects it into the seat?Originally Posted by 86taproject
