Interior questions?
Welp, I got bored today, so i went for a drive.. when i got in my car, i realized that i was tired of having it dirty, so i started cleaning it.. next thing i knew, i had the entire interior apart, carpet out, dash off, plastic off, headliner off and down to the metal!
Now.. I've got all this stuff out of my car, sitting in my house, how the hell do i go about cleaning it, and making the plastic look new? just re-paint it? do you guys suggest a glossy plastic coating sortof stuff?
Also.. like i said, i ripped out my carpet for the first time, and holy crap, there's a lot useless material under there.. over the wheel wells, under the seats and everywhere. It was so warn out i couldn't take it out in one piece, it was wet and moldy and the smell was killing me. does thiis stuff prevent vibration? is it necessairy?
How the hell am i ever going to clean my carpet? they're dirty and faded... any tips and suggestions are much appreciated!!

You may as well get some new carpeting. ACC (Auto Custom Carpets) has decent carpet for a good price, you can find it on their ebay store.
However, their low-price carpeting doesn't have any real backing except for certain areas, so you'll probably want some new padding. You could get some Peel'n'Seal from Home Depot or Lowe's (not sure which carries which) which run for around $10 a roll. I believe they contain asphalt, however, so they will probably smell a bit in the summer.

Yeah, i was looking into getting new carpeting, then realized it was 300 for the full set...
My carpet dosen't mean that much to me, i'de way rather spend that 300 on a day at the dyno, or something.

ACC wants $381.1200 (i guess it was a mistake?
) for a 1983 CHEVROLET CAMARO CARPET COMPLETE WITH CONSOLE & CUT OUTS. that's way too much.. I'de still have to convert that to canadian dollars, then pay shipping.
it'd be like 550$ for new carpet! i think not.

My headliner needs replacing, where would you suggest?
Hawks is the only place i've seen them for sale.. and everyone rags on how good they are.
in comparison, are they good price wise too?

don't paint your interior. just clean it with soap and water, then shine it up with Black Magic. Not Armor All.

Find a good quality headliner in a junkyard and recover it. I did.
- $15.00 for the headliner
- $5.00 for black fabric
- $5.00 for a can of spray adhesieve
Stockinteriors.com has carpet for $119, and there are new headliners on eBay (ABS backing, not foam) for $135. I don't even want to argue about painting interior plastics again. Duplicolor paint works well.
