what size sheet metal for floorboards? undercoating ?

what size sheet metal for floorboards? undercoating ?

im gettin rid of a couple holes in my floor, what size sheet metal do you guys think will be sufficient for patching it?

also what kind of under coating do you guys reccomend?

I'm going to POR15 mine when I do it, but I'm also interested in what others have to say about the sheetmetal thickness.

i have no idea what the thickness was i used for mine...whatever it is it was easy to bend & it was sturdy...worked til i could get it done the right way

You can use 16 or 18 gauge sheet metal....obviously the 18 gauge will be a little easier to bend and shape.

i better get rid of some of this 14 guage then

I bought mine from www.Porshop.com One thing to mention is it's ultraviolet sensitive to light. It doesn't hurt the coat any but it will eventually distort the color. So if you want it to stay looking pretty you'll need to top coat it. Also if it's new metal (not rust pitted) you'll need some of the Metal-Ready primer stuff. Basically Por-15 will bead up on new metal and not attach.
