Headliner replacement

I recently bought a new headliner material for my hard top iroc.

What type of adhesive should I use to adhere the foam backing to the cardboard for the headliner?

Just goto your autoparts store and get some 3M spray adheasive. Make sure that you get all of the old material off of your old headliner. If there is any residue or old dried up foam or glue it will not stick.

I have it and I can't remember if its for headliners or not. I have some 3M stuff not made for headliners and it isn't made to dry hard, it stays tacky all the time. It WILL NOT work for headliners. Get stuff specially made for headliners, you won't regret it.

I stress this procedure over and over. You may be lazy and be like "oh it will stick" or you'll see a little bit of material and be like "oh well, I got most of it off". DON'T DO THIS!. MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL OF THE OLD MATERIAL OFF. Otherwise you will be taking it back off again in 2 weeks. Either that or you will see that a little part of it is sagging... no big deal... right?

Wrong. A sagging headliner spreads like cancer. Pretty soon that little spot will turn into half of it sagging again. Don't make the mistakes I did. Take your time and do it right first. Due to my mistakes, my headliner is now being held up temporarily with staples because I am too lazy to rip the headliner out again.

I thought super 77 was meant for headliners.. Or it's commonly used...

Any other brands/styles to consider?
