what is it exactly your looking to do? if you completely remove the console are you looking to just mount the ebrake lower? you'll need to fabricate a bracket of sorts to basically "chop" the height of the e-brake so that it will sit level. once you pull it apart you'll see the factory cable gives you some play as to where you can mount it.

you can purchase a kit for example through lokar which makes various style emergency brakes but they are a universal fit which means not only will you have to fabricate mounting points and styles but you'll need to run a new cable as well. i put one of their short 6" floor setups on my car when i rebuilt my console. fairly easy however not cheap.

better explain what your looking for and i might be able to help you.

you got it right ... i want to completly remove the console ...and the ebrake needs to be shorter or lower ... didnt even think about relocating it but that may be a option ... fabing brackets is not a problem so i will look into the kit you suggested , thank you ...i want to pull the console so as to shorten the throw of the shifter ... would also mount my extra gauges right under the radio ... there is also the issue of big holes in the carpet after the console is out ... not sure what to do there, but hey somone here will have a good idea .....tao

Well, I'm using a pro stick shifter, so using the console without some kind of modification is impossible, and honestly the way you CAN modify it, i dont really like (Doesnt feel comfortable)
I'm trying to decide if i should make a custom fiberglass console that will at least make the e-brake look better, or what...
Can sorta see the delema in this pic.....

expensive...

Can anyone tell me if the e-brake from another car would work if it was mounted in a similar position, just maybe a little different?

if your cable hooks up anything will work if you make it.

lokar is extremely expensive, especially since you have to use their cable. at almost 300 for the setup it's definately an investment.

Why dont yopu modify the stock E-brk so it fits between the seat & trans tunnel. That way the handle could be at the level you want.
