Came home from bowling.
Saw a motorcycle on it's side, stopped to help, presumably, behind a Mustang.
Dude behind him not paying attention, SMACK.
Dudes car damaged heavily, the Camaro's bumper is messed up, but the bar isn't too bad. This is surprising due to the huge rust hole in it..
There ya go...
That sucks when people rear end others.. I mean, really.. Unless your brakes pretty much fail, I don't see much of an excuse.. I guess it's possible the forward guy hit his brakes too hard, but that just means they were following too close.. GRR!

I'm no pro, but I guess you should just listen for any new squeaks or rattles. It doesn't seem like you were hit too hard, so I doubt there is any permanent damage.

Same thing happend to me and I look under the bumper and it was pretty rusty too. I bought a new one (it was like $60.00) I would not buy a used impack bar. Just buy a new one with out a newer impact bar you have no protection from your gas tank blow up on you.

from what i've seen firebirds don't have the rust problem as much as the camaros. I know a lot of guys that have gotten good rear impact bars from firebirds for their camaros. I wouldn't buy an aftermarket impact bar for anything in the world, I'd trust a used OEM piece before that.

well i just got a check to repair the damage. I guess the impact bar did not hold up and the rust brake. He said he will over look the rust and replace it for me.
