Widebody Firebird spotted!

Crappy cameraphone pic, but I saw one! Judging by the orange, I would put it at early 90's vintage

Anyone know the car? It was seen in Pepperell, MA.

Thanks! We now have visual confirmation that it looks just as bad on a Firebird!

Boy... did it look weird. The guy was running MASSIVE tires on all four corners! The kit also made the windshield and taillights look too small.

Not sure about the motor... it had a single exhaust outlet on the left, with a dual tip thing. It was also VERY quiet.... so I was thinking 6 cylinder... maybe even a 4!

dug up those pics from newengland performance... judge for yourself

I personally think that with a quality paint job/body work (get the gaps perfect and panels perfectly straight) and some wide 17's from maybe fikse, ccw, or bbs, that thing would look pretty friggen tough.. sorta 80's scca-esque.
It definitly doesn't hurt to know that it doesn't have a stock LG4 in it, too..

I'd rock it.

Like 90bird said; new paint, some body work to smooth things out and some large wheels would look sweet flying around a track.

But then again I'm never getting another thirdgen, EVER.

I dunno. Kind of reminds me of double-X Pack Ford Capri (YES! I do like them too!).
With the right wheels and paint, it would be a looker.

I wanna widen the rear of my camaro and wanna see as many wide kits as possible before I go down that route.

Do they even still make such a kit? The only time I really see them is on 80's fabulous cars like this... usually on ebay with a HUGE starting price.

yeah, i noticed that They look sooo out of place it isn't even funny. He could've at least placed them closer to the nose and used 82-84 ones that don't have the big flat spot that hides under the ground effects. Speaking of ground effects... that crack shows why urethane is a better choice than fiberglass.

I think it could look very good, but the lack of body work and paint work done to that particular car... it makes it look like ***.

yes, but i would not mind getting a wide body kit, but it would be done correctly. I mean if you look at his, it was ligned up poorly. With the right work, and some changes to the angels on the rear, it would look fine.

I agree. It is a beater with a wide body. But still a beater.

I might have to get the danko wide panels for the rear of my camaro if I can't get the 335's to tuck anymore.

I kinda don't mind how it sits now, but a lot of people seem to hate it. Not that I care, but still It might look more bad *** with the wide panels.

No.... that must be a kit just for that bird. The danko one is just for camaro's but it can be made to fit birds with some extra work

I myself like it.
I was in a Trans Am Club many years ago, and one member had one. It was the car used in the ads for Pacific T-Tops.
They sold kits and complete cars, as well as installing T-Tops in cars.
They were located in SoCal.
I think the kit makes the car look like a road racer.
