well, i never took my rear seats out yet, but plan to. i heard that there is some metal brackets or stuff like that which makes things kinda unsightly so i've heard. what i was planning on doing was makin something that would bolt in place of the seats but made a flat surface where the seats were insead of the big "dip" where your seats used to be. kinda clean things up a bit back there.

Somebody was selling those on eBay a while back. They looked pretty cool. I wonder how much weight they could handle. It'd be nice to have a nice flat surface back there.

Speaker box carpet would probably be the easiest to work with, and although it doesn't look like a good match with a camera flash, in person it's usually a very good match.
I believe ACC also sells unbacked carpet to match their molded automotive carpet.

I would use "speaker box" carpet. I covered my whole floors in it to save weight. 2 years and very little wear to the carpet. It's thin and light but holds up pretty well.
You can find the basic colors (black, tan, brown, etc) at wal-mart, for your red, blue, etc you will need to go to an auto parts store. I seen rolls of it in just about all the bigger chain stores (auto zone, advance, pep boys, etc)
I bought my black from wal-mart for under $8 a roll, and got my red from auto zone for under $10 a roll. Each roll is 36" x 72" and weighs 1.66 lbs per roll
You can hot glue or staple it to wood. I used hot glue when I put it on my speaker plate., but used a spray on glue when I put it on my floors.
