4th versus 3rd gen side-mirrors

So I've been wondering why my side-view mirrors are a different shade of red from the rest of my car. I read a post somewhere the 4th gen's aren't as "square" as the third. Does anyone have pictures of a third gen next to a fourth gen side-view mirrors?

the 4th gen side mirrors are totally different and also 4th gens have different style mirrors for camaros and firebirds whereas the 3rd gens were the same for birds and camaros. If you do a quick search on google, you can easily find hundreds of pictures of 4th gens. Also, if you look up the username redraif you'll see how 4th gen firebird mirrors look on a 3rd gen.

Maybe a previous owner messed up the mirrors and had new ones put on or repainted.

This may help. There is quite a difference between the two.

Thanks. I definitly have 3rd gen mirrors. It looks like he just replaced both of them for some reason. Yet something else to get painted...

Quite often the paint on the mirrors oxidizes and fades sooner than the paint on the rest of the car. I know on my 86 Firebird, the mirrors were almost pink instead of red. I'm not sure if the mirrors were painted separately or what, but the paint doesn't seem to hold up as well.
