Where can i find this handle?

Well i was out starting up the car yesterday morning, it was a chilly -6c outside and when i hopped in the car i went to close those air vent things with the handles just under the steering column. Just to my luck as soon as i touched the handle for the right vent it snapped off

Anyone know where i can get one of these? Their are no thirdgens in the local junkyard so im screwed there.

It MIGHT be a standard GM part so you might get lucky.

I think the handles for the vents were only on cars that were not equiped with A/C, 90% of 3rd gens have AC, so finding them in a junkyard is a crap shoot.

Are you looking for the plate or the handle? I also have a car without AC and these parts are pretty hard to find. I am still looking for a good vent trim plate with the studs still intact. If you have any leads on one of these can you shoot me a pm?
Thanks

Kinda on the same topic, I have the handles in my 1LE, but now they seem stuck in the open position. How do i fix that?

Not to sound overly obvious, but chances are something is either jammed or broken. You will have to trace the cables back to the doors and then see where its binding... It may be just plain warn out, or someone pulled too hard...

You know, I forgot to mention that happened to me also. I used a little epoxy and works just like new.

John is right. You might pull the cable assemblies out and soak them in some WD for awhile. Just a thought.

Coolt thanks, ill drop him an email one of these days and hopefully get my vent working again.

Sadly enough this handle is too far gone to try using epoxy on it

Yes,
Dave has the parts you are needing, and he is a really super nice guy, but be prepared to spend some big bux's because he knows what these parts are worth are how scarce they are. Whatever you decide to doo, good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

You got that right, he only will sell you A+ parts unless he notes otherwise. He has a part I need but I just can't afford it because I am a starving college student, and it seems as though he is the only one who has it. Best of luck.
