It would be a protruding body seam that is "pinched" together and spot-welded.

the pinch weld is the area underneath the car between the rocker and floor. the metal looks pinched together

Why do you want to replace this?

I have seen cars bottom out and mangle up this area pretty bad and every body shop wants to repair this. very easy to straighten and will look brand new with a little time spent with mr. hammer and mrs. dolly.

any way to post a pic to show us how bad it is

I too want to know how to fix this. some jack *** lifted my car up with a fork lift to move it and crinkled mine. they have no rust but theres no way to get inside them to pop them out. he dented my floor pan too. luckily this was a day before i got it or he would be dead.

Tell me about it i tried to race a Z06 and couldnt because it started to kick sideways in 2nd. I know i would have taken him too I was starting to pull on him in 2nd till she broke loose at 5krpm.

I will try to get pics of my pinch welds too Theres leafs and **** suck up inside of it. I seemed to find a flaw in the design because my inside of my fenders are packed with leafs and so are my rockers. looks like a compost pile.

just a quick message to everyone that reads this post- NEVER lift your f-body by the pinchweld! You're taking a big chance that they'll crumple. There are plenty of good lifting points to use. You can use the k-member or A-arms up front and the rear axle or just in front of the rear control arms in the back. And if you have properly installed subframe connectors, you can use those too.
