Steering Wheel
ok.. Simple question
Ok, my leather wrapped wheel has seen better days.. after 19 years its starting to seem loose (which is never good).. anyway.. im thinkin of cutting off the cover and then rewrapping it with a sew-on wheelskin. im pretty set on doing this but do u guys forsee any problems with me doing this??

consider only 1 of the many local upholstery/interior shops in my whole county said they would do it for me.....i dont think i would want to try it....the one that said they would also said they didn't even have a cut out leather set for my wheel, and that they would have to MAKE one and from mine on, they would have a kit they could just re make everytime someone else needed it done. it would be the 1st time they ever leathered my style wheel.....$400......yikes.....

You might not be interested but have you ever thought of sending in your old one to get a refurbished one, cheaper this way. Thridgenresource does this: http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/inc/sdetail/423

I doubt i would let just anyone recover a wheel, then again i just bought a nice one off e-bay inc delivery to the UK for $88, i could have bought a non-genuine one a lot cheaper, but i wanted the correct wheel.
