Steering Wheel

ok.. Simple question

Ok, my leather wrapped wheel has seen better days.. after 19 years its starting to seem loose (which is never good).. anyway.. im thinkin of cutting off the cover and then rewrapping it with a sew-on wheelskin. im pretty set on doing this but do u guys forsee any problems with me doing this??

consider only 1 of the many local upholstery/interior shops in my whole county said they would do it for me.....i dont think i would want to try it....the one that said they would also said they didn't even have a cut out leather set for my wheel, and that they would have to MAKE one and from mine on, they would have a kit they could just re make everytime someone else needed it done. it would be the 1st time they ever leathered my style wheel.....$400......yikes.....

I doubt i would let just anyone recover a wheel, then again i just bought a nice one off e-bay inc delivery to the UK for $88, i could have bought a non-genuine one a lot cheaper, but i wanted the correct wheel.

how is that cheaper?? i dont mean to sound like a d!ck but a wheelskin is 50 bucks, and i do the work myself and i wont be without a steering wheel for a while... looks cool tho to have a new wheel i just can see spendin $275
