My new red interior!

It was getting late and I still haven't installed all the new parts, but here's a sneak peek of my interior redo. The seat covers are made of the same pallex cloth GM used.

I opted for a black headliner since GM only has the seat belt roof guides and the rear roof panel in black.

Amazing to see someone restore a red interior.

Is it reproduction pallex? If it is how does it compare to the original?

Side by side, the material looks identical. The front covers even have the seat pockets on the back

closeup. left is new, right is old factory.

Justin86Bird,
That looks awesome! At last, a good picture of the interior, I can't seem to find any of red and gray. I have the same interior in my 86 TA and it is bad need of restoration.

Been looking at Classic Industries and other manufactuers and can't seem to match it. What is the exact name of the red? Did you have the seats redone or did you purchase the material as covers? Love the way the material matches the original! Excellent job!

My headliner also needs replaced/redone. Was thinking about doing it, but saw that you had to go with black because it isn't available anymore. Is that from GM or aftermarket?

I have a ton of questions about it. I'll e-mail you more later.

Nice job!

I got the covers from www.paddockparts.com. Carmine red with charcol inserts. The carpet is ACC dark carmine red.

You can get the headliner in any color, but some of the plastic parts that hold it up are available from GM only in black, so thats why it got it. Plus I like how the black matches the plastic a-pillars and t-top trim.

Great looking car! I redid mine from stained old gray to an all-black interior. My headliner is still gray and I'm wondering, how do you get the seatbelt through to get the HL off? Are there slits/cuts so as to slide it out or did you cut?

Thanks....Eric

There is a slot cut in thats hidden by the plastic seat belt roof guide.

I love seeing red interiors in such great shape.

Red interiors get a bad reputation because they look so bad once they get worn and dirty, but in like-new condition, they're very impressive.

Nobody listens to me when I say red is sweet! Especially when it is clean and in good shape.
