To add GFX or not?

I've been wondering lately if I should add GFX to my 85 SC. When I first got the car I was deadset on the idea and can get a complete set for $100 from one of my buddies. But lately I've been seeing a few camaros without the ground effects and they look pretty good. I dunno, it kinda looks more like a traditional muscle car without them? In some cases anyway. Considering the amount of work that would be involved, what do you guys think? Here's a pic of my car:

BTW, my buddy has a set of Torq Thrusts that he would sell me so I'm thinking about putting on a set of them too.

I say it allll depends on how you do it. Some non-gfx cars look terrible, some don't. My favorite non-gfx car that I have seen is probably MW66nova's Camaro. That thing looks sick. It's all in the rims/stance, methinks...

Well, how do you think it would look in a blue similar to the one that my car is now? Or if you have any other blue suggestions?

I couldnt have said it much better.

Gotta have some good rake w/o gfx. Nice big meats in the back. Prostreet

GFX cars look better slammed with big wheels.

Exactly. Stick sidepipes on a GFX car and you're asking for trouble.. but anyhow, I think that shade of blue could go either way. It depends on what you want to do with the car. Do you want a car that looks like it's 60's predacessor, with huge rear tires, small rear wheels, the rake, the exhaust sounding like the end of the world is coming, etc. or do you want one that loks like a modern muscle/sports car like a 4th gen?

Kandied91z or mw66nova.

I'm not sure of the look I want to go with yet, I don't think I want a big rake, but that red camaro really looks good to me with those 17x8 torq thrusts. I plan on dropping it but nothing too dramatic. Maybe the best thing to do is to buy the wheels and lower the car and then make the decision.

I'd say if you're planning on lowering it then you need GFX.

But. Here. Check this out. The purple bird is my old '87 V6 Firebird. The second is my current '86 Trans Am. I really like the way both of these cars look, but in totally different ways.

Like 305q_ta86 said.. It all depends on how you do it. This car looks sweet as hell. It is ADV1's from 3GO.org. Pretty cool Berlinetta.

Personally I think GFX on a Firebird are almost gaudy, on the Camaro its a give or take, since I mostly see with the ones without and a nice set of 16 or 17" rims look really sweet on a car without... Unfortunately it seems that cars without the gfx use 14" rims
