$200 paint job?

well next step for my ta will be body and paint and i know that me and a buddy of mine will most likely do all the bodywork and prep ourselves in his garage and another friend of mines dad owns a shop and if i do all prep and body work and get materials he will tape spray ect. for $200. would this be a good route to go? the car will be white so it will be a tad cheaper color i assume and fairly forgiving. also i want to try to get the whitest white paint i can get for a decent price and so far the whitest one ive found has been the white used on the blue oval's any suggestions comments would be appreciated

it is for the spray i know in all it will be more considersing materials and what not. or there is another guy that would do it for prob around $500 $600 that a frirend of mine got to do his truck when he painted it. and it is beutiful and especially compaired to he b4 and aft pictures. started out as farm truck then they used that frame diff cab and diff year bed thik its like 83' 84' 85' f-250 and the guy welded in new floor boards skimed bondo where needed welded in holes replaced all rust and sprayed it with chrysler red and silver w/ lil bit of flake for around $900 including materials!!! ill see if i can get some pics and see what you guys think of his work and the otehr guys work. i do know the only draw back about the guy that painted the truck is that he does it in a small garage and the clear on the truck has some places where there is a lil dust or tiny bubbles. but that shouldnt be hard to fix or barley noticable like on his truck and might be less noticable if any on a white car like mine will be

well the first guy i was talking about im friends with his son and they are getting ready to paint his ?95? civic that new honda orange color. they have also dont some very nice prep and work on molding and reshaping diff parts of it. but im thining of waiting till the civic is done and look at it to see quality and then mabey take the car to him as is to get estimate. ive got new front bumper cover since my old has some tears in it from a fence that jumed in front of my few years ago and ground effects. i agree the 30th white is nice but unfortunatlty ive only seen it in pictures

our final paint is only as good as your prep, body prep is 90% of a good paint job. make sure you use compatable product if it dupont stay all dupont hok stay all hok ect, use they entire line from primer to clear and it will come out good. guide coats and long boards will insure your straigh and ot all the dents take you time and don;t rush and it will come out nice.

i like pearl white

i do plan on taking my time and using all good quality products and the only place that needs body work is my pass rear quarter where it was backed into by ex and i was stupid and said no when her mom said they would pay to fix it but other than that its straight. im still debating on if i should go ahead and get it painted with my stock hood or wait till i get the ram air II hood.
