Help me pick my two tone paint scheme
I'm painting my car and I want something unique but not something that'll draw attention. It's blue with silver ground effects, which I like, but I dont think I want it again. I'm thinking of painting the car all platinum, but I was thinking two toning the car. I saw this paint scheme and just love it:
I was thinking of doing something similar on my car but it came out bad since I'm not patient with photoshop and I didn't do the right colors. Anyone have tips of what to try or maybe pictures along these lines? Thanks so much!

If I don't incorporate the bumper then it looks like I got a new hood and forgot to paint it which is NOT the image I want. Here's a different angle-same idea.

that actully looks cool, just screams out for a pin stripe at the edges though.

I'm not sure, it's getting too flashy for me, but we'll see. I think it'll look a million times better in person, and the colors won't be so drastically different.

Hmmm....remember the show knight rider?
The evil Kitt had a two tone paint job that was black on top and silver on the bottom. The silver was at the bottom, and went up to the fender lines and the bottom half of the door to the door moulding. It also went up and around the fender lips so it looked really good IMO What about a dark candy apple red with silver?

Yeah, I thought of KARR, but I decided that's too much black for me. Dark silver on top, and alot less of it, is what I'm after.

Like stock. #19 black with gold skirts. Put the right stripes on too. That looks ultra cool. Please don't post that pic again. It hurts my eyes and is against fourm rules, not 3rd gen related. Most economy cars from the 80's belong in the 80's for a reason.

Oh no maybe my thread will get locked! I posted an car that I am basing my 3rd gen's paint scheme on, AND it's not even using TGOs server for hosting!
Black and gold, now that's original!

I think the stripe idea looks like *** (too busy) but I like the first 2-tone idea. If anything, I'd pull the black down a little bit more instead of using the top of the fender line.
Notice how this 2-tone line is just a tad lower:

Lower with thin stripe.
I think it'd look really slick in person but I'm not sure I want to spend so much time and effort on something I'm not totally in love with.

Josh,
Honestly I like it the Black and silver, the white stripe isnt doing it for me. Too many colors I think. I think the car looks real clean the way you have it in the pic. I am looking into the 05 civic blue with silver accents, so I guess I would be better off just trading and working on yours
Nah I wouldnt do that to you!!!
But it will look slick regardless. A nice deep black, nothing looks better. ( untill its dirty 5 mins later)
One more thing, some GTA rims would set that car off perfectly!

Yeah, I hate the white stripe. I also have 16" single line Iroc rims on my T/A.
And for the record, there is a photoshop forum to request picture editting.

i like the combo but for the line how about a subtle tribal design in a comp color... that would break it up nicely and lok good.
small tribal like 1 1/2 inch height.

The evil Kitt Man the 80's were a long time ago.
Personally I loved the Malibu they were a great sleeper. I had one with a 350/350 setup, 4 barrel, headers, shift kit etc, and more rust than a sunken ship. It was the fastest and best work car I have ever owned. Bought it for $300.00 and didn't have to do anything to it.
RIP (sniff)

i say wrap the black around a bit (like the photo with the white stripe) but no pinstriping white/red/or black. top notch choice

That two tone loks great, as far as the pinstripe, look at what Foose is doing for ideas.... Also make the colors wrap into the door jambs!
POZ
P.S. pull the top color down low enough to cover the base of the mirrors.
