Mirrors question.

Ok, so from what I have read, the mirrors in our cars are the same as the C4 corvettes. Is this true?? If it is can I put on a wind deflector like the ones they sell for the C4 corvette? I think that these might make a difference in noise reduction, I know it does on my fathers 87 vette.
Thanks
Dennis

the vette mirrors are almost the same as ours. the only difference is the vette mirrors are heated. i have seen the wind deflectors on our cars tho. theres a pic of a black bird floatin around with em on it. the cars got a shaker hood. try searchin for shaker hood and it should pop up.

Has anyone installed heated mirrors from the C4 to a 3rd Gen?

I am looking rite now at Mid America Motorworks C4 magizine. I have an older issue and they are on sale in this issue for $24.99. Not too bad IMO. Maybe worth trying. Here is what the ad says:

"Our Wind Deflectors are a factory-original method of stopping "wind-whistle" on your 1985-96 Corvette! They add aerodynamic efficiency, and allow you full enjoyment of your Corvette's stereo without outside interference. These thick ABS plastic peices fit precisely on your side mirror moorings. Instructions included to install with self-adhesive tape or with factory style rivets. Sold in pairs."

mamotorworks.com is their website I think.

Not to try and bring this thread from the dead and buried, but here are a couple of pics of the deflectors I took with them on my car. They fit beautifully. Not one complaint about them at all.

Hey alloy, did you notice any difference in noise? I noticed my dads corvette had just glass and no black triangle like the thirdgens do. I was thinking thats why the corvettes need them...

Got them off Ebay. Do a search for this "C4 CORVETTE SIDE MIRROR WIND DEFLECTORS AERODYNAMIC" I can't post a link to the auction, this is the best I can do for you.

Cost me $27.50 plus $5.50 shipping. They can be attached with either screws/pop rivets, or double sided tape. I used tape for now. The tape and screws come in the kit.
