Im just wondering if this is fixable...

Driving to work one morning and they laid fresh gravel across a road that I travel often and a car coming the other way crowded my lane so to avoid I touched the shoulder and lost control of the car and it drifted around the turn. After the turn it caught traction and sling shotted me off the road down a 5 ft ditch dukes of hazard style and slammed the front end off a 2 ft rise before I came to a stop in the farmer's field.

Here are the pictures of the worst of the damage below...

The pass side rear 1/4 is also bent inwards as well but i think theres a 3 pic limit or something on posts. Unless I know otherwise I cant post it.

What sukcs about the car is that its low mileage and theres no rust anywhere which made me very angry. The other guy got charged and my insurance wouldn't cover me since I only had liability on it since i couldnt afford to insure the car for collision and comprehensive etc. Which totally sucks...

Anyhow, does anyone know if htis is truly fixable or should I just say screw it and look for a good body elsewhere to swap the engine into?

Yea thats a really sad thing since you have no insurance but yea I would say thats totalled because our cars dont hold their value to autopac and if the rear quarter panel is rippled then the subframe is bent and that means big problems....I say get a roller and swap everything slavigable onto the new chassis.

He was charged with failing to drive within the marked lane. I was charged with leaving the roadway unsafely. The insurance company did pay me but it was a piddly amount and nothing to be overly enthused over.

But other than that, I guess i'll keep my eyes open for a roller somewhere.

Does anyone else find the stupidity in this ??

No s--t you're going to leave the road unsafe when you're trying to avoid some ___________ (add descrip of choice) is driving over the lane at you.

The 3 images per thread rule also applies to attaching (uploading to the website server) pictures. If they are hosted and linked (such as the above), post as many as you like.

The frame looks like it has a real good tweak in it.
Fixable.. yeah, for a price. Worth it... iffy at best.
It certaly won't ever be as nice as it was again.

Might just be the angle of the pic as well making it look worse, too.

Heres some more of the damage, its rather interesting that hte only interior piece that broke was hte spare tire cover.

Thats some more pics of the damage. But the one picture where the front end is warped like that, its really warped like that, you can see where the one side of the front frame was pushed to the drivers side when u look at the engine bay pic.

I'll be hangin out in the for sale section for a while lookin for a rust free body I think.

I'm probably the member with the most extensively damaged TA on this board( that's been fixed )...and that car looks past the point of no return. Definitely look for a rust-free body. Maybe even a GTA roller
