New paint ideas
All your paint jobs look totally awsome, I really like them. But I'm wondering how crazy to get on my 87 TransAm. I want something different. But I also know its a 3rd gen. I want a one of a kind paint job. Its red in color right now. I have T-Tops. We will be painting it this Spring. I was thinking of keeping it the stock red, and going with a pearl, or some sort of stripping. I was thinking about a flake in the paint...but I really dont think that will look all that good. Any Ideas at all would be great. Or websites to look at. I tried to do a search for custom paint jobs and got a couple ideas....but nothing that says "I'm the one"
Thanks
Todd
Thanks
Todd

I saw an AWESOME one about a year ago: there were lizards which looked amazingly 3D painted all over the car. On the hood, there was one large lizard. Half of it's body was on the hood and the other half was painted onto the interiot (dash panels, etc...). The windshield was very clean and pretty much totally transparent. It looked like the lizard was crawling into the car throught the windshield.

I'm just gonna throw it out, because it's still one of my favorites.. My car...
And, no, I didn't paint it... But I love it...

well if you want a one of a kind paintjob...the sky is the limit. But if you want something that will stand out like a sore thumb to passers by, and go with what you stated in your post (stay red, put flake in paint) go candy. My 86 was maroon, and when I repainted I was gonna stay the same, but then saw Kandied91z's candy paintjob on here and decided to go candy myself. My basecoat is EXTREMELY metallic (though pics hardly show it) and the candy's ability to shift color and even 'glow' under certain light makes people take notice that it's not a typical paintjob. Check my cardomain for more pics, or shoot me a pm if you're interested as it might be the direction you want to go

Well there are 2 ways to turn head.
1. Nice classy paint job that people will drool over. Solid color, maybe 2 tone, clean simple graphics, etc.
or
2. Stupid, mismatched color scheme, trashy graphics/stickers/banners, and other things that people will point and laugh at.
I like the first option and I know other people do too so it's win-win.

I'd like to see more variety, too, but at least you can count on his paint schemes being much better than factory. I guess to preserve ratings, he can't do anything really "out there".

well maybe foose isnt so original anymore, but at the same time this wasnt overhaulin.....and whether or not that scheme was 'cookie cutter' or not....I just felt that a cuda with that much work could have used a little more effort in the paintjob than silver
