new body parts, where to go?

i know of these 2 online places:
www.hawksthirdgenparts.com
www.fbodymotorsports.com

i've heard a couple of bad things about fbodymotorsports, what do you guys suggest if i need anything? i know both websites have pretty much ANYTHING for our cars, it really is awsome looking through the sites, just to see that they really do have EVERYTHING lol

Hawks is good, and F-Body is trying hard to shore up its rep after a couple years of *ahem* difficulty. Frankly though, depending on what body parts you need, I'd pony up for real GM parts--even if you go used. They simply fit better, and you won't have to screw around with them as much. They cost more, but that b-shop time adds up in a hurry.

Why not hit the junkyards? These car's are sitting, waiting to be stripped. I noticed that you are in the rust belt too (NY for you, PA for me). Granted, up here in the NE some stuff is hard to come by, but it's still out there....trust me. Also, try the for sale ad's here on the site. I've done business with a few on here and never had a problem. I personally wouldn't give f-body motorsports a second thought. They are well documented on here, along with all the problems they have caused.

If you have a body supply shop in your area then I would call them. I need 2 fenders for my car and they have them for $74 each. Then again I dont know how good they fit. I would just spend $74 on new then go to a junkyard and buy some that could rust in a year. But it all depends on how you want your car to look, if your going for show or not.

real GM fenders are likely to outlast those $74 jobbies, even used. As a guy who worked closely with a body shop for years, I can tell you there is a reason the aftermarket sheetmetal is so cheap. The level of quality is not even close to original. If you are on a budget, get 'em used from Hawks or a junkyard, but I'd steer clear of AM ones. You'll have far fewer problems with fit and finish as well. This is one case where it pays to get the real deal.
