Loc tite on paint

Well it seems that someone decided to leave an open tube of loc tite sitting on my rear hatch The cover was on, so it soaked into the cover, and when I removed it, the cover stayed behind. Is there anyway to get the loc tite to dissolve without hurting the paint? I'm guessing the answer is no, and that I'm going to have to remove as much as I can, then wet sand the area down. This is on a base coat clear coat paint job. It was the clear general purpose stuff.

They make loc-tite remover....I've used it before but I am guessing it will also remove your paint too.

I somehow doubt the heat from a hairdryer will break down loc-tite.

That would be great. So far, I've been able to get all the black marks from around the main bit by using compounds.
