leather vs fabric

So whats better fabric or leather and why. Fabric feels good but is boring and leather gets really hot or really cold, leather can get sticky too when hot. Also if you havent heard im looking for a 1989-1990 iroc or a 1991-1992 Z28 or RS 5.7liter V8 automatic withen around 2 hours from Owensboro, Ky. Price range depends on condition probably not much over $5000

I replaced the factory cloth seats in my IROC with leather 4th gen Trans Am seats. Now I slide all over the place when I hammer through corners, and I sweat like a fat chick in a tight prom dress every time it warms up.

If I can't afford to put suede inserts in soon, I might recover them in cloth.

Leather looks better. That's it. Its not comfortable, you slide, its sticky, it burns, it freezes, etc.

I love leather.... looks soooo much better. Never have to worry about stains.... sliding is never a problem if you have decent seats with side bolsters like 4th gen TA seats. And as far as hot seats... if you have tinted windows, it really doesn't get that hot.

Fabric.... It absorbs sound better than leather which reflects it back more, not so good for a good sounding stereo... I guess it's a personal choice...

I love my leather 2001 seats as apposed to the 1990 cloth seats, with lumbar and power I have no problem at all staying in place.

That's what i have. I slide all over the place. My Corvette seats hold me in place, but that's because they are made for somebody with a 30" waistline, not a 40" waistline.

I like my cloth seats... in my 84, the 83 has leather wich is being replaced. Probably with cloth seats.. I am however taking the carpet out of the rear hatch area and covering it in leather.. mostly because i haul nothing and it is alot easier to keep clean and does look better back there IMO.. but as far as sitting.. definitely cloth.

Cloth seats here! I think I wouldn't put leather seats in my car even if they were given to me for free. I would sell the leather and get some clotch

Do yours have the inflatable bolsters? I am a pretty small guy, but when I fully inflate the bolsters, it is actually pinching me in the seat... almost to the point of being too tight.

I have the 4th gen camaro gun barrel leather seats in my 91Z28. They are much much sweeter looking.
But they are a bit "stiff" to the feel. The cloth is more comfy but collects stains. The leather, as said above, does tend to make you slide and does get hot and cold.
You just have to sacrifice comfort with style and/or looks.
I prefer the comfort of the cloth, but I cant give up the looks of this leather

My 4th gen seats have the adjustable bolsters. My corvette has the non-sport seats. I sat in one with the sport seats and it was even tighter than mine. As it is, on the Corvette seats the metal rods inside my lower bolsters poke me in the ***. I'm seriously considering putting some aftermarket seats in there.

Leather looks better and feels better.

It looks bad faster (without alot of upkeep) and it wears faster.

I like cloth, did I mention all my cloth seats were completely intact and at the same miles my leathers were garbage?

later

Why wasn't this thread set up as a poll? Either way, i vote for cloth, because unlike leather, it doesnt crack or show signs of wear after moderate use, and requries 0 amount of lotion or conditioner (it sucks havin to put that stuff on everymonth with my dad's 98 maro...)
