Got my full a pillar pod in the mail today!!!

I put my gauges in the panel to see what they'd look like, and where to position them. Here is what I came up with....

looks good man, those are the 3 3/8" tach and speedo right? I'm getting idea now and hope to have a setup like that in my car sometime next year, might make it one of the "winter projects".

Nope, I managed to get the 5 inch tach and speedo to fit in that cluster board that I made. You just need to do some rearranging with the gauge locations to get them all to fit in. it's tight, but it can be done.

Why does it say you're doing ~30mph at 8k when nothing is hooked up?

Autometer tests all of their gauges for full needle movement. Once power is applied to any of the gauges, they will move to the 0 or at rest position. They do that so you can tell if the wiring is properly done ie. if the gauge drops to rest or 0 then the gauge is working. I like to think that my car is just that fast sitting in my driveway But if I'm doing 30 MPH at 9000 RPM, then that means first gear is a b!tch!!!

So, is that a-pillar pod a whole a-pillar, or a slip onto the orriginal a-pillar. Thanks.

Well, I haven't hooked them up to any power as of yet, but all the instruction sheets that Autometer sent with the gauges said that it was just a self test feature of the gauge. If you hook up the power and the gauge doens't move/go to 0 then there is a problem with the wiring. As far as I know, the gauges will stay in the last spot that they were in before the power is cut/ignition turned off. BUt like I said, I don't have them in the car yet so I'm not really 100% sure.

So, is that a-pillar pod a whole a-pillar, or a slip onto the orriginal a-pillar. Thanks.

It is designed to go over the existing a pillar panel. You remove the factory a pillar trim, lay the gauge pod over it, and dril 6 holes for the attaching clips. Reinstall the factory a pillar trim, and then clip the gauge pod to the a pillar trim and you are done.

That's OK, I have something to make up for it. After I get all the gauges in and the car is running and broken in I am going to put in 3 more gauges in a custom made panel underneath the radio where the a/c controls used to be. I think that a *Nitrous Pressure* gauge will be sufficient to replace said boost gauge, don't you think?

So you had to make the panel for your speedo and stock guages yourself?
