shift plate

has anyone ever made a shif plate for a 5 or 6 speed. like the one's in a ferrari

It was discussed a few years ago. I don't know that anyone actually got around to doing it though.

I've thought about it, but I don't think it'll work for us. Measure the distance between the shifter in 1st gear and 3rd gear. I think the position of the shaft overlaps, which would make it impossible for you to have individual gates. The ferraris use a very thin shaft, and I think there's also a wider throw between gears.

Trial and error, make a carboard template and get the rough in, then thin aluminum then move on to your rough final piece

Likely have to make a custom shift plate to go with it and look decent

If you've ever driven a car with the plate, it's looks alot nicer then it is to actually shift with.

It would totally work in my t56, though.
i'm gonna cardboard it up tonight..

anyone have access to a mill?
