4th gen rear interior swap
Almost done with my 4th gen interior swap
Just got a couple of more cuts until it's finished. I had to use some of the third gen pieces to fill in some blanks spots but man what a improvement. The original was tan from 83 and looking very rough. It was also painted black to and that keep chipping off. I'll post picks in the next couple of days.
Has anyone else ever put the rear panels in? I done a search for days and just keep cuming up dash and door panels.

Definately interested in pictures and how you did this. As far as I know a 4th gen rear panel swap has never been done. Keep me posted.

Here is a couple of shot of where I am.
By doing this swap I had to use the weather stripping from the 4th gen and still able to keep my third gen weather stripping. This door sounds very solid when closed now. The only spot that can be trouble is where the 4th gen hatch shocks were located. I hide this with some headliner material I had left over and just made a cover to kinda hide this area.

Here is one with the 3rd gen cover over it and on the last shot I posted you can see some of the 3rd gen piece I had to cut to fill in some open areas that the forth gen didn't but it is very little,

that's sharp, i've been thinking about that for a long time but never had the cash spare to buy the extra pieces. Once you get done i bet no one but us thirdgenners will know thats its not from a thirdgen

One thing that would be REALLY usefull for doing interior like that would be a plastic welder. I seen it in the eastwood catalog. So you can have the 4th gen panels. But weld on the 3rd gen pecies to fit the body. Or make custom pices for what ever. Instead of having to use the cloth material like you did. It would be more of a professional job I think. But it looks good sofar. I would like to see pictures after your done. I never thought of doing 4th gen interior. But I just saw my friends IROC with a 4th gen dash in it. I kinda like it. Adam :-)

Re: 4th gen rear interior swap
Yes I did finish this and every thing looks great. Since this is a full body kit on the car and everyone see the interior, they automaticly say that a new camaro. Can't even tell it's all custom fit.
