I am buying the aftermarket ABS plastic headliner on hawks gen for my 83 camaro T-top and was wondering how good they are?

They are awesome, one of the best restoration products for our cars! You will run into a dome lamp fit issue but it's easily overcome.

The manufacturer thought the dome light mounts backward. You can redrill the holes for the mounting pins and move them 1/4" forward, mount the domelamp backward, or upgrade to a map/domelamp from a Buick.

My car I just bought has the plastic headliner. Very nice and sturdy. I just got the dome light w/ map lights from the junkyard and put it it. I needed to cut the plastic to get it too fit in.
Cutting the plastic is a bit of a pain though. A knife with a serrated edge would be ideal.

when you get the ABS headliner, are all the holes for sun visors and the done light already cut, or do you have to cut them?
Looks great, this is on my list of things to get done in the next couple pay checks, so I'll be ordering one too in the next week or so.

u have to cut them out but i installed one but the sunvisor brackets dont really line up. the dome light u have to mount backward and if u have map lights u have to get a plain domelight.

Alright cool, I was wondering because I'd like to get rid of the sun visors. Cutting for the dome light wont be bad, I think I can handle that.

Thanks for the help guys. I feel a bit better about doing this now.
I too tried to re-cover the old headliner, but the old board was so brittle that between removing it from the car, and getting all the old fiberglass and glue off, it just crumbled into pieces. I figure if I'm going to re-do the headliner, I might as well just get the ABS and get it over with.

Yea, it was either goign to be Hawks, because I've heard nothing but praise for Bruce, the owner, and his staff, or I was going to get it from Jims85IROC, I believe thats his user name. He has his own store and sells alot of interior pieces including the ABS headliner, so one or the other.
