Anyone know where to get trim clips for an 83?

I just replaced the headliner in my 83 Firebird. It was a lot easier than I expected it to be but I ended up with a small problem. The trim clips that hold the molding above the right side window broke when I pulled the trim off, so now it just hangs.

I read someone's suggestion about maybe using some putty or rope dope to hold it in place, but I'd much rather get some replacement clips. I checked a few parts sites but lately I'm discovering that some 3rd gen parts are not easy to come by!

Those are the hardest clips to come by I think, everytime I go to the JY I carefully remove them and save them. The JY might be your best bet, next time don't pull down the trim, slide it toward the rear of the car and it will come out.

I ran across these on Ebay a couple months back.I haven't ordered from them yet but I think I will when the time comes.
eBay Motors: 82 CAMARO/FIREBIRD INTERIOR GARNISH MOULDING CLIPS (item 8068608624 end time May-29-06 14:55:25 PDT)
They run them all the time. And looking thru other items they seem to carry a lot of odd or hard to find fasteners.

Yah, I just bought those off of ebay about 2 weeks ago. Have yet to receive them, but hopefully I will get them soon. I have been looking for those clips for a while so it was cool that I ran across them on Ebay. I removed my A-Pillar trim not too long ago, and someone used the regular door panel clips on them. Not correct but it seemed to hold.

Yeah, I wish I was smart enough to do that the first time. The instructions said to just gently pull the trim off, but I already knew that the fasteners would be brittle. Thanks for the advice, it will come in handy for removing other trim pieces.

Yes and No. It's the extension of the A pillar trim above the windows that runs to the sail panel. The A pillar uses those funny screws and are not a problem, it's the little clips on the top section.
