anyone had there hatch glass break?

this is the 2nd time about 4 years ago i was driving it was hot and humid, no a/c it started to rain and boom the glass blew out, i put another hatch on and last night my friend and i took the car out, i put it in the garage and we came back a little bit later opened the door and it was hot in the garage kinda cool outside, we were working under the car and start hearing this popping sound and boom the glass broke..the only thing i can think of is it being hot in the garage and the cool air blowing in from the door, this sucks..

I've never heard of it either. You sure you're putting it on right?

maybe your hatch isn't allinged right, and there is too much pressure on the glass

Damn, finding an 86 hatch must be tough. I have a spare if you're looking for one cheap, it's located in Worcester, MA.

I didn't believe that the hatch was very breakable since they are so heavy. BUT the prevoius owners of me car told me they busted the hatch glass with too much bass, once i removed the entire back seat and found broken glass i was a believer. Good thing replacement hatch is hard to come across.

lol its not the case that there hard to come by, its the case that the *$%#ers at the junkyards smash them because they can't open the trunk. I have came across atleast 15-20 doner cars that "would" have had the one I need.
