whos put LEDs in their auto meter gauges

Im gonna try and but either blue LEDs in my auto meter gauges or just the blue covers. Has anyone done this? what was involved with doing it with the speedo and tach sicne there is no visible spot in the back to remove the bulb from theser two gauges? Do the covers look good or should I spend a LOT more money and the entire bulb in LED? I would need to but 8 bulbs total

I installed an LED in my gauge pod (phantom autometers) and it looks really good, this picture is kind of blurry but you get the idea...

I had a red led in my ultrlight trans temp gauge. It was terible. I could barley read it at night. I had to remember where each number was on the gauge. The next day it went back to a reagular bulb. I want to try a cover this time. And see if that's any better. Or I can just go with the c2 gauges and get it over with. lol. That's the look I want anyways. Adam :-)
