Nothing much to brag about, its nearing time to paint it, but everytime i find myself wanting too..i decided to add that "1 more bolt on" heh. Anyway i wanna leave the wing off and i added 82 tail lights, i think they look cleaner...im thinking a dark dark green, like mustang bullitt green, with a white hockey stripe on the sides of the car..what do you all think?

definitely put the spoiler back on. it looks naked without it. it looks ok on cars w/ o gfx but it looks weird w/ o it on a gfx car. mw66nova is probably one of the only cars that looks good to me without the spoiler on it. id say get you a spoiler and a cowl hood or a hood with some blisters. also on the taillights where that little space is that is indented you need to paint that black. that would be the first thing i would do.

The spoiler will stay off, i want to try something new. The hoods deffinitely going to go, if the car doesnt have a spoiler, its going to have an attention getter with the hood. And what about my tail lights?..didnt quite understand that last part..

the later models of those style tail lights had a black line going through the middle.

I think being spolier-less on these cars still has a nice look, because these cars really do have great lines.

Id run the 85-90 iroc/z28 gfx as they have more of a smoother look. Especally if your adding the cowl and having no spoiler. Its just all lines in the body.

Other then that lookin good

Looks good. I agree with maroon about the stripe in the lights, and the cowel hood, but the spoiler should stay off IMO. I think it would look mean when its all painted. Bullit green is a nice colour too.
How soon do you think til you send it to paint?

Ah i dont like those style lights, i want no black lines at all..what i do wish though is that there was no in dent but o well heh. Thanks guys for the compliments. Im hoping to get it to the paint shop soon, next month hopefully. Im debating about the hood bc if i did a cowl, i wasnt sure if it would throw too much "weight" on the front of the car, meaning too much on one side. I was thinking something like the ss hood, not too tall, but still gives the front end a good touch. I have my old grill from my old front end in my garage, the one with the fog light holes...i think ill put that one back, if not ill get the one that says CAMARO in the center...anyone wanna photoshop some green onto the car?

by the way, the stripes, i meant like this...

this is someones on the board, made black with the stripe that i want...nice looking car whos ever it is..

i say go with a high rise z spoiler. it does look alittle strange without a spoiler.
BTW, what air filter are you using? like, size and such.

I like the spoilerless image, but only if you go with a plain hood, just like the California IROCs had. Simple, clean.

I'd also go with a set of IROC tail lights too... those tail lights you've got just look too low budget.

california irocs?

that air filter is from jegs...just look under there tpi section, they got it in there...its the 600cfm one, the 1000 cfm won't fit our cars...its 31.99$ too

Go with the big fatty tall F40 Ferrari style wing......KIDDING. I hate the camaros I see with that damn thing mounted. I personally don't like it without a spoiler, go with the 3 piece 5" is my opinion. That would be a attention grabber in its own.

Do a search. In 85 GM sold a "California" package on the IROC-Z. The car came without any decals, without a rear spoiler, and without a louvered hood. Beautiful cars.

I like the tail lights on your car and I think it looks good w/o the spoiler but I would keep that hood if you get a cowl hood or somthing fancy I would put a spoiler on it other wise it will look uncomplete. But I like the car it looks good.

well thank you guys, i appreciate all the positive comments. I like everyones opinions too. I basically got the idea for a spoilerless car from this car..

Even though its a 'bird, i think it looks mean as hell. Id like to do that, lower my car alittle more, and add some bigger wheels...like a deep dish well, giving the car a low, menacing stance.

Leave the spoiler off, but you should not change to a cowl hood. those taillights would look cool if when in the body shop you had the dust them with some tinted clear coat. Black with a drop of body color in the clear, so they don't stick out some much.

will that work on a MAF equipped car? did you notice any performance increase at all?

i think the car looks mean without the spoiler, but i would change the gfx to an earlier style without the vent holes. having no spoiler gives the rear of the car a shorter look. green with white hockey stripe would look killer, post pics when you get it done

i agree, i would love to have that same air filter, but i also have a MAF car, and the normal factory dual airbox. that filter looks sweet, makes the engine "look" more powerful than it is

that looks AWESOME! i say a 3" cervini cowl hood and your set! i had one on my car and i loved the look, but i'm taking a different route with the car and going a bit more sleeper-esk and so i went back to a flat style hood...well, it's an 82 crossfire hood anyhow.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I was thinking about switching to the earlier ground effects, we will see. I'll get pics up as soon as its painted.

As far as the filter went, i mean, i guess it feels alittle better up top. Its loud as HELL, it sounds awesome when you put it to the floor and hear the intake inhaling.

haha yea, my days of trying to figure out why the new motor was burning oil on start up, i noticed some oil in the intake, i hooked that contraption up, it worked, but didnt show much oil getting sucked up. Either the valve seals on the new motor are shot or that intake manifold is screwed up...still working on that.

I am pretty sure that this was the Gm performance parts division test mule. Hot rod did an article on this car, and took it on the power tour. They strapped in one of the first ram jet engines into it. It used to be white, with an lt1 prior to the ram jet swap. Probably get more pics from gm, or hot rod mag.
